In the same city where residents affected by the Red River Scenic Boulevard Project still do not know where they will be resettled, the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) has held a second groundbreaking for housing for its personnel, with thousands of apartments planned.
The Latest: On Sept. 25, the MPS held a groundbreaking ceremony for a police housing project on plot HH-01 in the Nam hồ Linh Đàm new urban area, Hoàng Liệt Ward, about 10 kilometers from central Hà Nội.
- The project is expected to provide about 884 apartments, featuring buildings up to 35 stories tall, on a site covering more than 10,000 square meters.
The Details: Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Public Security Đặng Hồng Đức stated that the project had “special social significance” in “improving living conditions” and helping police personnel “work with peace of mind, ready to complete all assigned tasks.”
- Đặng Hồng Đức also thanked Hà Nội’s People’s Committee for its “attention, support, and efforts to facilitate the project’s early launch.”
- He called for “continued attention and assistance” to help complete it soon.
The Background: This initiative is the third social housing project reserved for police and military personnel in Hà Nội to be launched or approved recently.
- In May 2026, Hà Nội’s People’s Committee allocated a 16,060-square-meter site in the Tây Hồ urban area to the MPS for police housing, without an auction or competitive bidding.
- In late August, the MPS also broke ground on a 30.76-hectare housing project with 2,816 apartments in Đông Anh commune.
According to Hà Nội’s People’s Committee, the city launched six housing projects reserved for armed forces personnel between 2021 and 2025, comprising about 4,044 apartments and 216,000 square meters of residential floor space.
Why It Matters: This project is one of several social housing projects reserved for police and military personnel that Hà Nội’s People’s Committee planned in February 2026.
